The Path to Progress
- Fund and Facilitate Veteran Benefits. Make sure there is adequate funding and manpower to put benefits in hands of qualified veterans. Burial benefits, compensation and VA claims, emergency financial assistance, educational aid, medals and awards, and more are either provided or helped along by the state.
- Educate Those Who Serve. Continue to provide free college tuition to all Ohio National Guard personnel.
- Provide Tax Relief for Soldiers on Active Duty. Defer state income tax payments for Ohioans serving in active duty.
- Take Care of Aging Vets. Expand operations of Ohio's Veterans Homes - nursing home facilities for our veterans.
- Fund Local Organizations and Memorials. The American soldier stands as a living memorial - a reminder to the next generation that they too may be called upon to serve our country. Local veterans organizations and physical memorials tell their stories throughout the ages.
